Following the permit filing last Friday, the images of the new stage of transformation of the Standard de Liège stadium are unveiled. After having conducted a structure project author mission for the extension of the stadium for Euro 2000, and having been at the heart of various developments of the complex since then, we stand today alongside Assar Architects and design office Pierre Berger (MEP) for this new metamorphosis.
At a stone’s throw from our Liège offices, the Standard Stadium in Sclessin, is an essential scarlet red landmark in the landscape. Over the years, the building has evolved gradually both in terms of capacity and level of security standards.
In this new version, the capacity is increased to about 35 000 seats in European competition version. But this time, the ambition of reshuffling extends beyond the stadium, since the surrounding areas and access roads are also redesigned. The upcoming arrival of the tram – with a new stop next to the complex – and the development of an esplanade all around the building will radically change the way things work.
Our teams are in charge of stability studies and roads.
Work will begin in 2020.
