Royal Standard Football Club stadium
After having carried out a structural project author mission for the extension of the stadium in preparation for Euro 2000, and after having been at the heart of the various evolutions of the complex since then, the bureau greisch stands today alongside Assar Architects, engineering offices Lemaire & Pierre Berger (building engineering services) for this new metamorphosis.
A stone’s throw away from our Liège offices, the Standard Stadium in Sclessin, scarlet red, is an unmissable landmark in the landscape. Over the years, the building has gradually evolved in terms of capacity and in adapting its safety standards.
In this new version, the capacity will increase from 27,700 to 35,000 seats in the European competition version. But this time, the ambition extends beyond the stadium, since the surroundings and access roads are also being redesigned and new areas, such as office space, leisure center, etc., will be created. The imminent arrival of the tram – with a new stop next to the complex – and the construction of an esplanade around the building will therefore radically change the way the premises will work.
The mission of bureau greisch includes all the structural studies relating to the stands and the roof (overhang 45 m), the shops and leisure center, the offices as well as the surrounding esplanade. The bureau greisch is also in charge of the studies of the roads connecting the stadium.
