    Renovation of the Monsin dam

    The project involves renovating the Monsin mobile dam, which was built in the 1930s.
    It includes :

    • the replacement of the Meuse level regulation gates (6 lifting gates with a 27.5m long mobile rise);
    • the demolition-reconstruction of the turrets (7 in number), including reinforcement of the existing piles and inverts that have been preserved, rehabilitation of the gate raceway and drive systems, sealing of the old fish ladders and integration of an eels pass;
    • the installation of metal technical footbridges on the superstructure to allow the movement and synchronisation of manoeuvring equipment;
    • the replacement of the cofferdam beams (12 27.5 m long steel trusses) and the rehabilitation of the associated crane raceway;
    • the construction of a new technical building;
    • the renovation of the existing service building;
    • the development of the surrounding area (drainage, retaining walls, access, etc.).

    Access to the site is made possible by a temporary bridge. The worksite will be built on 3 levels. 3 of the 6 openings must remain in continuous operation during the works. In winter, 5 of the 6 openings must be operational.
