“La belle Liégeoise” pedestrian and cycle bridge
Executed as part of the development of the Guillemins – Médiacité axis, this bridge provide direct cycle and pedestrian access between Guillemins station and Parc de la Boverie.
This 7 m wide bridge with a total length of 294 m is built of steel with a timber deck. The load-bearing structure of the main span over the River Meuse (163 m) is a suspension construction located to the side of the deck.
PRM access to this bridge is via ramps with a maximum slope of 4.35%. The ramp on the right bank runs across the Parc de la Boverie at treetop level, affording people crossing the bridge a completely new view of this city park.
Greisch, in collaboration with landscape architect Corajoud, is responsible for the complete design mission for the bridge.
