“La belle Liégeoise” pedestrian and cycle bridge

Executed as part of the works to develop and construct the Guillemins – Médiacité axis, these construction works enables cyclists and pedestrians to cycle or walk directly from Guillemins station to the Parc de la Boverie.

This 7 m wide construction works with a total length of 294 m has been executed in steel with a wooden decking.

The bearing structure of the main span over the River Meuse (163 m) is a suspension construction located on either side of the roadway, totally freeing the view towards the city.

PRMs have access to this bridge via ramps with slopes of 4% or less. The ramp on the right bank runs across the Parc de la Boverie at treetop level, affording people crossing the bridge a completely different view of this city park.

In collaboration with the landscape architect Corajoud, Greisch has been responsible for the complete design assignment for the construction works.
