Jean-Yves Del Forno graduated in civil engineering from the University of Liège in 1992.

Managing Director of Greisch Ingénierie, his skills mainly lie in the field of civil engineering structures.

He joined Bureau Greisch in 1994 having started his career in the infrastructure department of Belgian National Railways (SNCB). In his first role at Greisch he was responsible for the studies for the E40-E25 motorway link in Liège,

He has been in charge of some landmark engineering projects, such as the TGV viaduct at Donzère Mondragon (F), the Pont de l’Europe in Orléans (F) and the Sart canal bridge (B). Between 2001 and 2004, he worked on the construction of the Millau Viaduct (F) as design coordinator. He headed up the design and project management team for the bridge over the Fontaine Ravine in Réunion (F) and the Hoge Brug in Maastricht (NL). He also conducted the design studies for the “Lange Wapper” Viaduct in Antwerp (B), and participated in the studies for the future cable-stayed bridge over the Sidi Maarouf intersection in Casablanca (MA) and in the design options for the Main Bridges on the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway. His latest projects have been the Suzan Daniel bridge in Brussels, the new bridge over the Gave in Lourdes, a bridge and a footbridge over the Dyle in Mechelen, two bridges over the Canal du Centre and the renovation of the Vilvoorde viaduct

He has been a scientific collaborator at the University of Liège since 2008, contributing to practical classes on bridge design. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Catholic University of Leuven where he lectures on bridge building to future civil engineers.

In the reorganisation of Bureau Greisch in 2016, Jean-Yves Del Forno was appointed Director of the Infrastructure and Civil Engineering Structures Division. He is also Human Resources Director for the whole of the Greisch Group.

He is also director of  SECO.

He has co-authored a number of publications and has spoken on the technological advances associated with his projects at numerous international conferences.
