    Halls of fairs of Liege

The Exhibition Halls are moving from Coronmeuse to the Bressoux multimodal zone, in the building located at Place Louis de Geer, 2, 4020 Liège. The site, with a covered area of 15,600 m², will be dedicated to hosting events, shows, conferences, etc. In addition, an exhibition esplanade will also be available for outdoor events. This infrastructure is integrated into an already urbanised area, in the heart of a zone restored to economic, recreational and leisure activity, and fully integrated regarding mobility. Landscaped surroundings, easy and sufficient accessibility, and parking, a clear and green esplanade and accesses offer all the infrastructure necessary for the comfort of the public.

Bureau Greisch carries out a stability mission for concrete and steel structures. The particularity of the mission lies in the complex geometries and the important spans of the roofs. The roof structures of the main halls are made of lattice girders with a height of 5.0 m spaced 8.1 m apart and composed of 6 m Warren-type meshes.
The structures are longitudinally hyperstatic: 69 m span in Hall 1 (5,600 m² of column-free floor space) followed by 42 m span in Hall 2 (3,400 m² of column-free floor space) and then 12 m cantilevered outside in the logistics area. The roofs of the 3 other exhibition halls and of the restaurant are designed with slopes and multiple levels. These structures follow the geometry of the roofs without intermediate supports, with frequent spans of 24 m. The large, free and functional volumes obtained are therefore ideal for organising all types of events and exhibitions.

Specific studies under fire scenario have been carried out to satisfy the stability of certain metal structures without fire protection.
