The new extra-high-voltage cable vulcanization tower of Nexans has been inaugurated in Charleroi. The project comprises three new structures: a 53-metre-high tower, a storage hall of approximately 770 m², and a 1,150 m² process area spread over three levels and topped with a pitched roof supported by a steel framework.
From the earliest project stages, greisch engineering office supported BPC in meeting the technical and scheduling challenges specific to this industrial development. Through a thorough analysis of the production process requirements and the equipment to be integrated, our teams revisited the design and the original structural concepts to develop a more rational, cost-effective, and high-performance solution.
This engineering approach made it possible to optimise the foundation system and the quantities of materials used, simplify site execution, and ensure compliance with a particularly demanding schedule. It was a decisive contribution to the delivery of this strategic infrastructure within-one-year timeframe imposed by the site’s industrial activities.
