Renovation of the Duden and Jupiter parks in Forest – Brussels

    Renovation of the Duden and Jupiter parks in Forest – Brussels

    Duden park (22.2 hectares) and Jupiter park (2.6 hectares) are in the south of the Brussels Region, in the municipality of Forest, on the right bank of the Senne valley. The terrain is rugged, and water management is a major issue given the recurring flooding problems in the lower part of the municipality. Indeed, Duden park suffers from numerous problems with water and mud flow.

    The mission includes:

    • the hydraulic study of both parks;
    • the development of extensive flow management solutions to keep water within the park and limit overloading of the drainage system;
    • the restoration of paths (5,150 m²);
    • the redevelopment of Duden and Jupiter parks and their access points;
    • the development of recreational areas;
    • the restoration and installation of furniture;
    • the restoration of views and key landscape perspectives.

    The Duden park is classified and protected as a historic site. The Jupiter park, on the other hand, is only on the preservation list.
