Suzan Daniel bridge in Brussels
This structure, intended for public transport, pedestrians and cyclists, provides a direct link between Simon Bolivar Boulevard and Picard Street.
The structure is mixed; the arch bridge composed of three bays of 27-60-27 m consists of a concrete deck for the «public transport» part and a wood decking on metal frame for the pedestrian part.
The transverse dissymmetry of the structure frees the pedestrian vision on the canal and the site of Tour & Taxis. The design of the bridge supports on the docks took into account the recommendations of the masterplan of Michel Desvigné, landscape architect, for future green spaces along the Quai des Matériaux.
