Liege-Airport – Facade of the passenger terminal

The terminal glazed front is composed of a 2 600 m² outside surface and of a 800 m² inside surface ; it is mainly made up of double gazing partitions (3.6 m wide and 2.4 or 1.6 m high).

Those partitions are fixed to an extremely-thin metallic structure in which the assembly details are unnoticeable.

This frame main characteristic is the lack of stabilizating bracing. A whole study has been carried out for the front in order to foresee at the best the expansion, buckling and bending problems.
