« La Maison du Roi » – Brussels City Museum

« La Maison du Roi » – Brussels City Museum

This Neo-gothic building on the Grand Place in Brussels originally dates from the 16th century, but the building was completely rebuilt and extended in the 19th century. It now houses the Brussels City Museum.

The stability study for the restoration of the building includes the analysis of the load-bearing structure from the foundations to the frameworks as well as the analysis of the facades, chimneys, anchoring of statues, etc. The disorders have been reported on a plan. We have described them, analysed the causes, and recommended solutions. We also calculated the load-bearing capacity of all floors; floors supported by vaults, by metal beams and arches or by the superposition of the two. The area concerned by the study is +/- 3025 m².
