    Institut Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila

The Institut Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila consists of several buildings. The works involve renovating the boiler room in building A (main building), demolishing and rebuilding building B (classrooms) and constructing buildings F (administration), G (classrooms) and S (toilet blocks). The project covers an area of 4,735 m² with a volume of 14,205 m³.

The construction of building B must be carried out in two phases, which requires perfect coordination between the two parts of the building, both architecturally and structurally, as well as in terms of building engineering services. Another requirement of this project is to ensure the smooth running of the school during the construction period.

The new building B is intended to house classrooms. It consists of three floors of classrooms and a technical floor, with a total gross floor area of 975 m².

The building must be constructed in perfect harmony with two other adjoining buildings (A and C).

The new building F is an office building intended for the school’s administrative departments. It consists of a basement and three floors, with a total gross floor area of 1,381 m².

The new building G consists of classrooms and a refectory that can be used as an auditorium. It has a basement and three floors, with a total gross floor area of 1,671 m².

The new building S is intended for new sanitary facilities. It consists of two floors with a total gross area of 212 m².

The current boiler room, located in building A, has been modernised and adapted to supply buildings A, B and G. It consists of three gas condensing boilers supplying the static heating elements and hot coils of the ventilation units.
Buildings F and S are supplied by an independent boiler room located in the basement of building F. It is equipped with a gas condensing boiler supplying the radiators, a domestic hot water tank and a hot coil for the ventilation unit in building F. Hot water is supplied to building S via underground pipes from building F.

The ventilation units in buildings B, F and G are dual-flow units with high-efficiency wheel heat recovery systems (>80%).

The buildings have the following energy performance ratings:

    • Building B: K<30 level and Ew<50 level,
    • Building F: K<30 level and Ew<50 level,
    • Building G: K<30 level and Ew<50 level.

A «total surveillance» fire detection system is installed with networked fire control panels for buildings F, G and B. All lighting fixtures are LED. A new medium-voltage power station has been installed to supply all the buildings. The various buildings are equipped with access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems. They are interconnected by an administrative computer network and a «school» network.
