Footbridge of Farciennes

    Footbridge of Farciennes

This footbridge is aimed to enable again a forest access closed by the construction of a motorways junction. The bridge is made up of Cor-ten steel.

This material choice gives a simple, long-lasting solution in a woody area, because of its lack of need for any upkeep.

The structure is composed of a 200 x 25 cm box-girder made up of approximately 20-meter-long spans. This girder rests on its ends and at mid-span. All the pieces (box-girder, parapets, steps, piles) have been made from one single coil (2 m wide and 8 mm thick) unrolled and then cut.
