Development of a soft mode corridor on the left bank of the Meuse in Liège
The mission consists of reappropriating the banks of the left bank of the Meuse in Liège by developing a corridor for soft modes. In order to ensure a global vision of the insertion of the corridor in its environment, and to guarantee an optimal and safe use of this route, the study perimeter will include the optimised connections between the corridor and the city that surrounds it.
Two sections are being studied:
the continuity at the level of the City Centre to connect the end of the existing facilities, from the Prémontrés roundabout to the future tram facilities at the level of the Cité roundabout,
the continuity at Val Benoit to connect the end of the existing facilities from the Fragnée bridge ramp to the Val Benoit site,
The strengths of the design are:
- the urban integration in the context, considering the presence of the river and its bridges,
- integrating the landscape of infrastructures and strengthening the presence of vegetation while maintaining social control,
- the determination of profiles based on the mobility study,
- the development of a layout appropriate to the uses and accessible to all: pedestrians, PRMs, cyclists and micro-mobility,
- the legibility and continuity of routes,
- the treatment of boundaries and the multiplication of possible connections to existing networks,
- safe travel for each type of user but also in relation to each other.
