On June 1st, the new Heritage Code (CoPat) came into effect. This marks the beginning of a reform of the Royal Commission for Monuments, Sites, and Excavations and the appointment of its new members. The Royal Commission for Monuments, Sites, and Excavations (CRMSF) is the entity that advises the Walloon Government on the protection and preservation of heritage. It is composed of a panel of specialists dedicated to the service of heritage. (suggested brief explanation taken from their website)
It is in this context that our colleague Anne-Claire OLIVIER, specialized in heritage restoration, has been appointed as a member of the Royal Commission for Monuments, Sites, and Excavations. With nearly ten years of experience in heritage restoration, she developed a passion for immovable cultural heritage ever since her studies and completed her degree as a civil engineer-architect with a master’s degree with a specialization in heritage conservation and restoration at ULiège.
Anne-Claire has successfully led various projects within bureau greisch, such as the restoration of the municipal swimming pool in Ixelles, built in 1904. She is currently working on a variety of projects, including the restoration of the Montefiore Institute in Liège, the restoration of the dungeon of Franchimont Castle, and the stabilization of a retaining wall in the Royal Domain of Mariemont.
