Queen Elisabeth music chapel

    Queen Elisabeth music chapel

Extension project of the Queen Elisabeth musical Chapel in Waterloo.

This will enable to double the floor area of the place from 1 800 m² to 3 500 m².

A new extension is created at the back of the current art deco building. All in length, this addition remains discrete in order not to compete with the existing listed building.

Equipped with a concrete structure, a glass frontage offering an effect of transparency, supported by wooden/steel columns it enables to accommodate new residence studios (20), music rooms (3), a concert hall (600 seats), a recording studio, a kitchen, a cafeteria.

The difficulties of this project are the very strict acoustic constraints, the passage of the special techniques and the fact that the structures of successive levels are not plumb up to each other.
