PASS in Frameries

The scientific adventure park is meant to be a learning spot, an initiation and a discovering of new technologies, sciences, techniques and industry.

The choice of the spot located on the old Crachet coalmines enables the reconversion of an industrial wasteland.

The construction of the new buildings and the re-allocation of the old ones have voluntary been fixed on the old frame of the industrial process. The differentiation between the old components and the new ones is not marked in the volume but mainly in the materials choice and application.

The current frames in reinforced concrete have been restored (3 300 m²) and new frames in reinforced concrete have been added (4 700 m²). The new metallic constructions are made up of a 1 500 m² building, emergency stairs, outdoor terraced garden as well as a lift and stairs linked to a thumb wheel frame.
