In February 2017, VIVALIA launched the call for tenders to designate a multidisciplinary team to design the hospital complex Complexe hospitalier régional Centre-Sud (CHR-CS). Among the 10 participating teams, including several international groupings, the team formed by archipelago | baev, A3, alinea ter, M&R Engineering, Bureau d’ études Greisch, BGS-BNS, APSIS Santé and COSEP was chosen to develop the new hospital complex in the province of Luxembourg.
A sustainable hospital connected in a health campus.
The new hospital complex will have between 550 and 650 beds and day hospital spaces. It will bring together a large part of VIVALIA’s acute activities at the Houdemont site, on the edge of the E411-E25 motorway.
As part of an environmentally friendly approach, the project will take into account the strengths of the landscape to implement the various activities and eventually develop a care campus.
Spatial flexibility, patient comfort, ergonomics and care pathways will be at the heart of the future hospital by the design team, which has distinguished itself in particular by proposing an innovative organisation of the emergency department, based on care by treatment channels. The new hospital will also be fully designed and developed using a collaborative BIM process, starting at the programming stage.
