As part of the redevelopment of the former Forges de Clabecq, Duferco Wallonie revealed its “Confluents District” project. Ambitious and innovative, it was presented to the public at the preliminary information meeting on 22 March 2018.
The “Confluents district” concerns the development of a area of 11.5 hectares, located along the Charleroi-Brussels canal. It will host a mix of functions: housing, shops, services to the population, leisure and an “Outlet Mall”. The whole is articulated within large public spaces marked by a strong presence of vegetation.
The project also includes a new urban boulevard, located between the bridge over the canal and the eastern entrance to the city of Tubize. It will make existing traffic more fluid and serve a future economic activity zone, in particular by offering an alternative to the current railway level crossing.
Bureau greisch has been entrusted with a complete mission for the civil engineering and bridge engineering for this city entrance boulevard, which also includes two major intersections and a new bridge for the crossing of the L106 railway line.
JNC International joins the project for urban planning and landscaping studies.
