The definitive name of the Parkbos foot and cycle bridges was confirmed to the public at the official opening of the new pedestrian-cycle link in Ghent. The André Denys and Zoé Borluut bridges will now be mentioned to designate the structures that rise above the Ringvaart canal and the E40.
As part of the development of the Groenpool Parkbos – a new recreational green area west of Ghent (Belgium), a new cycle path has been built on the old route of the vicinal road. This completes the existing route of the Fietsostrade F7 fast cycling link. This new section passes over the Ringvaart canal and the R4 expressways on the one hand, and the E40 motorway on the other. In order to overcome these two major obstacles, two 136 and 138 metre long footbridges were built.
For this project, obtained after competition, bureau Greisch carried out a complete design and structural mission.
