The bureau’s timber expertise called upon for the new Embourg community centre

The wood expertise of bureau greisch has once again been recognised! The municipality of Chaudfontaine has chosen ROSO Architects, in association with greisch, to build a community space in the Jean Gol municipal park in Embourg

Built on the concrete slab of the former police station, this 200 m2 partially open space, comprising a large open area, sanitary facilities, a bar and storage rooms, will be topped by a wood and steel structure. It will be used to organise events and as a leisure area for the local population.

The bureau’s expertise was needed to integrate technical constraints with aesthetic and architectural quality. The roof, with its uneven slopes, will consist of a classic base, stretched upwards and then deformed to emphasise the general orientation of the pavilion, giving it additional movement. A triangle at the top of the roof, invisible from the outside, will be glazed to provide a light well under the pavilion. An internal wooden roof will add depth to the pavilion from below.
