The Association of Wind Engineering (AIV) gathers at bureau greisch

Founded in 2005, the Association of Wind Engineering (AIV) brings together experts whose aim is to develop and promote wind engineering in the French-speaking community in Belgium, France and Switzerland. It provides its members – industrial, research and academic – its knowledge as well as technical documentation. As members since the foundation of the association, we welcome today the general assembly of the AIV in our offices in Liège.

The meeting is held after a day of training on the effects of wind on structures in the Eurocode. The structures built today are indeed increasingly slender, and therefore more likely to be subject to dynamic behavior that must be controlled at all costs. Among the various interventions, Vincent de Ville de Goyet, scientific director at bureau greisch, gave a presentation on the vibrations induced by vortex detachments.

The AIV acts as a member of the International Association of Wind Engineering (IAWE), and awards each year the Inno-Vent prize, won in 2017 by bureau greisch.
