Avelin-Gavrelle: two new “Equilibre” pylons on the test station

Two new “Equilibre” pylons are now mounted on the test station of the new very high voltage line of Avelin-Gavrelle, in the North of France. These test towers are erected upstream of the site in a substation belonging to RTE (Electricity Transmission Network), and will serve as a model for both assembly and for maintenance teams.

Routed by truck from the Iemants workshop (Eiffage Group), the different elements that form the “Equilibre” pylons are 20 meters long, 2.6 to 3 m in diameter and weigh between 17 and 54 tonnes to assemble and finally form a pylon 69 meters high.

The complete installation of the test station, carried out by Eiffage Energie Systèmes T & D, should be finalized by the end of June. In the meantime, our teams continue to provide their expertise, especially to support Eiffage in case of unforeseen circumstances.
