canevas is an inter-professional company of architects and engineers created into 2004 following the split of the engineering and architecture activities of the greisch's office.

Established in Liège, in the Liège Science Park (Sart Tilman’s scince park), it has about ten people.

This architectural firm is composed of architects, engineer architects and draughtsmen who, for the majority, have worked for several years with Rene Greisch. Its collaboration with the 'bureau d'études greisch', 'greisch ingénierie' and 'greisch coordination et études' is complete.

Faithful to this thought of Rene Greisch, the architecture of canevas is guided by the search for the economy of means, simplicity and structural effectiveness. It is characterized by the concern for using a limited number of simple, economic, declinable and durable materials, the formal purification to the benefit of a functional effectiveness and the attentive and elegant resolution of the least detail. It gives importance to the use of local techniques, competences and resources.

For each of its achievements, the company implements its architectural and technical skills, its knowledge of materials and their respective qualities, its sensitive approach to the natural landscape and the built environment, its reasoning as regards programme and distribution of spaces as well as its artistic judgement. Because of this, really original works where the quality of design is essential result.

canevas is likely to take responsibility for a project from its initial design to the implementation designs by integrating the intervention of various specialist partners such as engineers, town planners, landscape designers, artists... according to the specificity of each project.
