20/12/2006The bureau greisch is discerned through two projects awarded by the Steel contest 2006 (Belgium) organised by Infosteel.
  The viaduct of Millau (FR) is laureate in the category International projects, and the Pôle construction Est at Marche-en-Famenne (BE) received the special prize of the jury.
The prize for the renovation granted to the restauration of the Atomium at Brussels (BE) awards Bgroup, part of the group greisch, via the architecture and engineering office Origin.

Office greisch laureate of « The 2006 outstanding structure award » for its contribution to the construction of the Millau viaduct (FR)  This prize awarded by « The International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) » is a compensation for very exceptional structures. The viaduct was praised for its elegance and the innovative aspect of the launching method used at its construction.

10/11/2006The works for new arrangements on the track of Spa-Francorchamps (BE) will begin.
The works for new arrangements on the track of Spa-Francorchamps (BE) will begin.  The planning permission has just been granted for the works aiming the modification of the racing track. So on, the order to start the works has been notified by the owner of the circuit.
The study of these works, which include the construction of the new paddocks as well as the adaptation of the chicane, the pit lane and the curve of the Source, has been entrusted to Bureau Greisch together with the architects of Acte 1 and bureau d'architecture Philippe Greisch by the winner consortium of contractors Wust-Besix-Bodarwé.

20/10/2006The ECSN Awards for Excellence in Concrete 2006 in the category of buildings has been attributed to the new Guillemins railway station in Liège (BE), designed by Santiago Calatrava.
The ECSN Awards for Excellence in Concrete 2006 in the category of buildings has been attributed to the new Guillemins railway station in Liège (BE), designed by Santiago Calatrava.   This prize for excellence in concrete has been granted by the European Concrete Societies Network among eleven projects of six different European countries and rewards all the actors involved with the project. The mission of the engineering office greisch concerns the stability studies, the documents for tenders and technical assistance for the direction of the works.

13/10/2006The works for the doubling of the capacity of the hub of TNT à Bierset are starting.
  Studied by the bureau greisch in association with the architecture bureau Canevas, the two first building lots have been attributed, to Galère for the structural works, to Galère-BCM for the steel structure.
The hub have to be in working end 2007, the works will progress in twelve months.

Bgroup Infra, engineering office partner of greisch, is celebrating its 30 years.  Bgroup was founded in 1976 by Michel Provost and Marc Wertz under the name « béco Ingénieurs conseils » and initially worked on studies of structures and civil engineering.
After a period of diversification and the creation of affiliated companies for each activity, Bgroup grouped its structural studies within the society Bgroup Infra.
Today, bureau greisch has acquired the main part of the capital of Bgroup Infra which allows the society to gain manpower and specific competences in order to be able to accompany clients for bigger or more complex projects.

Ceremony of the foundation stone for the new waste water treatment plant of Liège-Sclessin (BE). The bureau greisch is studying the stability of all the construction works.  The sewage treatment plant will have a capacity of 150 000 IE (inhabitant equivalent), extensible to 200 000 IE.
AIDE, acting as owner and conceptor, has charge the contractor group Bageci, Franki, Construct, Biotim et CFE EcoTech with the realisation of the works.

A research project of the bureau greisch will be financed by the Walloon region within the program FIRST-Entreprises.  The directorate general of technology, research and energie (DGTRE) of the Walloon region has just allowed the financing of this two year research project.
With the advices of the M&S departement of the university of Liège, a shell finite element of reinforced concrete will be developped taking account with the reinforcement, cracking, shrinkage and kreep. This new calculation tool will be integrated to the non lineair finite element FINELG, already used by the bureau greisch to conceive, calculate and verify many unique bridges.

The preliminary projects of three alternative routes for the link Saint-Vith – Wemperhardt (BE) may begin.  On the demand of the Walloon ministry for equipment and transport (MET D.152 - direction of roads of Verviers), bureau Greisch has to study different routes to improve the itinerary between Saint-Vith and Wemperhardt, to raise the status of the N62 to a transit road with great debit.
Three routes have been retained by the supervision committee and will be studied further at a preliminary project stage to be integrated in a comparative synthesis taking account of the aspect investment, mobility and impact on the environment.

01/08/2006More work for the bureau Greisch with bridge construction on the Reunion island (FR).
More work for the bureau Greisch with bridge construction on the Reunion island (FR).  The construction works for the two last main bridges on the road of Tamarins are beginning. This new road aims to reduce the traffic on the coastal road western the island.
On the one side, the mission for the realisation of the brigde over the Ravine Fontaine have been notified to the contractors group Demathieu&Bard – GTOI – Cimolaï. Bureau Greisch acts as main designer for this bridge, with the partnership of Tremblet, Coyne et Bellier, Seti and l'atelier méridional Joël Nissou (ex. Faup&Zirk).
On the other side, the execution studies (steel and civil engineering) for the construction of the bridge over the Grande Ravine entrusted to bureau Greisch by the contractors group Dodin – Vinci GP – Eiffel in charge of this operation.

Buiding license granted for an interchange station and a depot for buses of the TEC (public transport service) in Menuchenet, close to Bouillon (BE).  The depot has a parking zone for 17 buses (increasable to 30), a dedicated zone for tanking, preparation and cleaning the buses, a bus-wash, a service building and a parking zone for 25 cars (increasable to 50). The interchange station has platforms for 5 buses, a public car park for 10 cars, a "kiss and go" lane, a bike shelter and two travelers shelters. The project includes also the modification of a bike road, the treatment and the discharge of the water, the lightning, the video monitoring, the plantation...

Building license granted for the new multimodal station of Jemeppe (BE), close to the bridge of Seraing.  This interchange station for buses is realised around a central platform including the technical building of the TEC (public transport society). The works include the adaptation of the regional roads and the accesses to the motorway, the complete change of the communal roads for local traffic, car parks for 220 vehicules, the improvement of slow circulation paths and the protection of their users, as well towards the residential and chop areas on both banks of the Meuse river as towards the car parks and the bus and train stops. The study covers also the public lightning, the urban furniture, the plantation...
 
08/06/2006The roof of the new high speed train station of Liège-Guillemins (BE), designed by Santiago Calatrava, has reached the base of the hill of Cointe.
The roof of the new high speed train station of Liège-Guillemins (BE), designed by Santiago Calatrava, has reached the base of the hill of Cointe.  This last launching operation has braught the 4800 tons structure of 35 arches to its definitive position using 90 ton jacks.
The last two arches and the wide canopies to complete the roof structure will be assembled on site.

Higher and higher, the future highbay storage for Sanofi-Aventis in Frankfürt (DE) will reach 47 m.  For 35 years, Greisch has already designed more than 225 automated-storage buildings, commonly called highbay storage. This latest order concerns a building with 15 000 pallets in a 95-meter long, 21-meter wide and 47-meter high (stocker crane : H=43 m) highbay storage structure. Its height represents a new challenge.

The new development of the square of Embourg, district of Chaudfontaine (BE) is going on.  Started on March 6th, this urban revitalization streches out on 1000 m² and includes a partly covered esplanade, canopies and a bus shelter, as well as a semi-covered car park (32 parking spots).
The sculptor Florence Fréson is participating in the project for the floor covering and the creation of new commemorative stones for war veterans.

Beginning of the construction of the new campus building of the Catholic highschool on the Gasthuisberg site in Leuven (BE).  On monday March 27th, begins the construction of a new 13 000 m² highscool building, to accomodate the nursing, obstetrics, laboratory assistants and other medical technicians departments, nearby the university hospital.

On february 20th, opening by the Minister-president Elio di Rupo of the new access road to the CBR cement factory in Harmignies (BE).  The cement factory is now connected by a new access road to the roundabout of the N40, lightening therefore the trafic through the village.
At the entrance of the site, a steel shelter covers the double weighbridge for the lorries.

The roof of the HSR station of Liege-Guillemins (BE), designed by Santiago Calatrava, will go on for another 9,60 m  The fifth lauching operation of the structure of the roof above the railway lines will happen during the nights of February 20th and 21st. Two more launching stages will be necessary to bring the structure to the base of the hill of Cointe.
